Let’s Talk Healing

A Seasonal Reflection Honoring Your Healing—Past, Present, and Future

Healing rarely arrives in a straight line. Most of us discover—often with surprise or tenderness—that healing is a loop, a spiral, a rhythm that rises and falls in its own time. As the year folds into winter, we’re offered a natural pause: a moment to look gently at the path behind us and the horizon ahead.

Healing is a whole-person experience—mind, body, and spirit shaped by reflection, connection, and the steady return to oneself. This season invites us into that process to talk about the healing you’ve already done and the healing still unfolding.

“Healing is rarely linear. It bends, circles, pauses, and unfolds in its own time. It can be difficult and painful. And still, again and again, we witness your resilience.”

Cindy Wasek, DNP, APRN

Honoring the Healing You’ve Already Lived

We often forget to acknowledge how much courage healing requires. Not just the breakthroughs, but the quiet acts of resilience: showing up for a therapy session on a hard day, setting a boundary you’ve long avoided, letting yourself rest when your body needed it, or simply breathing through a moment that once overwhelmed you.

A Reflection Practice: “Looking Back With Soft Eyes”

Take a few minutes and sit somewhere warm or well-lit.
Let your breath slow.

Then ask:

  • What part of my healing this year was the hardest-earned?

  • What small moment of growth am I quietly proud of?

  • What did I learn about what helps me feel safe, grounded, or connected?

No forcing, no judgment. Let these answers rise like winter morning light—slow, soft, inevitable.

Healing in the Present Moment

Healing doesn’t happen only in the memories we revisit or the future we imagine. It also unfolds quietly in the present moment—breath by breath, choice by choice, sensation by sensation. So often we move through daily life without noticing the subtle ways our body softens, our thoughts shift, or our spirit reaches toward steadiness.

The present moment is where healing becomes embodied. It’s where insight settles, where resilience grows roots, and where the nervous system learns safety through repetition and care. When we pause long enough to notice what is happening right now, we often find that healing is already taking shape inside us.

A Mindfulness Exercise: “Right Here, Right Now”

This practice is simple and can be done in just a few minutes.

1. Settle into Stillness
Sit comfortably, letting your shoulders fall away from your ears.
Take one long inhale and a slow, complete exhale.

2. Sense Your Body
Without changing anything, notice:

  • Where your body feels grounded

  • Where it feels tense

  • Where it feels open

Let your breath move gently into the space that calls for attention.

3. Let the Present Moment Speak
Ask yourself:
“What is my body saying right now?”
Is it asking for rest?
Maybe it’s asking for connection.
It could simply be saying, I’m here.

No need to fix anything—just notice.

4. Anchor Through a Single Sensation
Choose one sensation to stay with for a few breaths:

  • Warmth in your hands

  • The weight of your feet on the floor

  • The soft rise of your chest

Let it be your temporary anchor, a reminder that healing often happens in the smallest, quietest places.

5. Close with Gratitude for This Moment
End by placing a hand on your heart or abdomen and whispering:
“Thank you for being with me in this moment.”
This simple acknowledgment reinforces safety, presence, and self-kindness—core elements of healing.

Healing Through Renewal: Inviting What’s Next

Once we acknowledge what has been, we can gently open to what wants to emerge. Renewal isn’t about pushing forward; it’s about creating space for new clarity, new energy, and new insight.

Here are two possible pathways that support continued healing during this reflective season:

healing through a drum journey

1. Sonic Induction Drum Journey: Healing Through Rhythm, Depth, and Connection

Facilitated by our clinical chaplain, Jude O’Higgins, the Sonic Drum Journey is a chance to enter a contemplative, inward state through rhythmic drumming and guided voice. This experience uses principles from neuroaesthetics—sound, vibration, repetition—to help quiet the mind, access deeper knowing, and integrate long-held emotional patterns.

Many participants describe:

  • A sense of clarity

  • Access to memories or insights that feel meaningful

  • A deeper connection with their intuition

  • Emotional release or softening

  • A renewed sense of grounding

Drum journeys are particularly supportive in winter, a season naturally suited for introspection.

A Micro-Practice Inspired by the Drum Journey

Sit with your feet on the ground.
Tap a slow, steady rhythm on your legs or chest—something simple, like one beat every second.
After 20–30 seconds, pause.
Notice what shifts in your breath, shoulders, or thoughts.

Let the body speak first. Insights often follow.

healing through NAD+

2. NAD+ IV Therapy: A Renewal Option for Mind–Body Restoration

Winter is often when energy dips, motivation slows, and cognitive clarity dims. NAD+—a coenzyme essential for cellular repair—can help support mental and physical renewal. NAD+ restoration can also positively affect cellular aging and is known for it’s anti-aging effects.

Having an NAD+ infusion can:

  • Support mental clarity and focus

  • Enhance energy levels

  • Support mood stability

  • Assist with cellular repair and recovery

  • Promote a sense of rejuvenation as part of a broader wellness plan

This treatment isn’t a stand-alone solution, but it can be a valuable companion to your healing process—especially during transitions when you’re seeking renewal or recalibration. Many clients pair NAD+ with therapy, mindfulness practices, and integrative support to help the body feel resourced for continued growth. Read more about NAD+.

A Gentle Renewal Prompt

Ask yourself:
“What would it feel like to enter the new year with more energy, clarity, or inner spaciousness and what are some ways I could do that?”

Let the answer guide how you care for your body in the weeks ahead.

Your Healing Journey Continues

Healing isn’t an achievement—it’s a relationship with yourself. A practice. A return.

As we move into the quiet beauty of winter, may you offer yourself permission to rest, to reflect, and to imagine new possibilities for your mind, body, and spirit. Whether your path continues through therapy, spiritual care, sound journeys, integrative treatments like NAD+, or simple daily grounding practices, know this:

Your healing is already happening.
Your growth is already unfolding.
And you don’t have to walk this path alone.
