Medical Cannabis for Treatment of PTSD
The cannabis plant has been in use for thousands of years due to its medicinal and euphoric effects. Cannabis for medical use has been legalized in 37 states including Utah, though it is still a Schedule 1 controlled substance under federal law.
So far the research done on cannabis has shown that users may experience effects such as reduced inflammation, help with insomnia, and reduced symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Research evidence is still in its infancy on how cannabis can help with psychiatric disorders, and research is ongoing.
