Process Grief, Discover Inner Healing, Connect with Ancestors in a Safe Community Environment
Explore the depth of spiritual camaraderie and holistic growth through participation in one or all of our Sacred Community Connections Ceremonies. These ceremonies are skill groups that foster a nurturing environment where individuals unite in shared experiences, rituals, and wisdom, cultivating profound connections that enrich the soul and empower collective evolution. These skill groups compliment individual therapy and provide a safely contained space that fosters powerful inner work with the intention that this deep inner work can be done in community and with the support of others.
All of these groups are facilitated by our clinical chaplain, Jude O'Higgins, Ph.D.
You can book a FREE 15-minute consultation with Jude by calling 385-272-4292 to see how you might benefit from her services or fill out this form if you'd like us to contact you.
Sonic Induction Drum Journey
Upcoming Dates:
February 16 and March 2, 2026
Time: 6:00-8:00 pm
Cost: $30
May be attended in person or virtually.
Embark on an immersive sonic drum journey, where the rhythmic heartbeat of this ancient percussion instrument carries you into realms of deep relaxation and inner exploration. As you recline in a comfortable space, surrounded by resonant vibrations of the drum allow yourself to surrender to the experience.
Led by a skilled facilitator, the journey begins with gentle breathwork and a guided meditation, preparing your mind and body to receive the healing vibrations. As the rhythms build and intertwine, you may find yourself transported to landscapes of imagination, where the boundaries between self and sound blur, and the language of your soul speaks to you in whispers, echoes, and metaphors.
Each beat, each tone, is a thread in the tapestry of your journey, weaving together moments of release, insight, and transcendence. Whether you seek relaxation, self-discovery, or simply a space to let go and be, the sonic drum journey offers a profound opportunity to connect with the wisdom and healing power of sound, returning you to the world refreshed, renewed, and harmonized.

Elemental Grief Workshop
A five-week supportive grief series
The Elemental Grief Workshop is a professionally facilitated, five-week grief support series designed to offer a structured and compassionate space for exploring loss. This series honors grief as complex, non-linear, and deeply human, including losses related to death, identity, health, relationships, and life transitions.
Meeting once weekly, participants are invited to engage grief through creative, somatic, and reflective practices using an elemental framework of Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Spirit. This approach is accessible across belief systems and supports both emotional expression and nervous system regulation.
This series does not aim to fix, resolve, or eliminate grief. Instead, it supports participants in building capacity to live alongside loss with care, meaning, and continuity.
What to Expect
- Five weekly two-hour sessions held in a calm, supportive group setting
- Guided grounding and meditation practices
- Art-based and symbolic activities for non-verbal expression
- Ritual elements that help externalize and contain grief
- Group witnessing without pressure to share
- Practices paced with attention to nervous system safety and consent
- Time for reflection and integration during and between sessions
No prior art experience is required. All activities are invitational, and participants are encouraged to engage at their own pace.
How This Fits Into Your Care
The Elemental Grief Workshop is a facilitated grief support series, not psychotherapy. It is informed by trauma-aware and clinical principles and can complement ongoing therapy or other supportive care. All participants are welcome!

Grief and Bereavement Support Group
Held the second Thursday of each month
Note: No Grief Group in January. We will resume in February, 2026.
Time: 6:00-7:00 pm
Cost: Donation-based
This group is open to anyone who is grieving a loss of family, friends, pets, etc.
This is not therapy, but grief processing. We set the protocol for participation (no fixing, no crosstalk, etc.) prior to beginning, and then individuals are encouraged to share their feelings, and everyone will hold space for their grief.
Sometimes, we may have a ritual or ceremony for releasing grief as well.
Please email Jude@lotusslc.org for more information.

Death Cafe at The Lotus Center
Held the last Wednesday of each month
Time: 6:00-8:00 pm
Cost: Donations accepted
Welcome to our Death Café: a unique and open-hearted gathering where individuals come together to engage in meaningful conversations about death, dying, and the finitude of life. Far from being morbid or somber, Lotus Death Cafés offer a safe and supportive space for exploring these often taboo topics with curiosity, honesty, and compassion.
Over light refreshments, participants are invited to share their thoughts, experiences, and questions surrounding death and mortality. Facilitated by trained hosts, and certified End-of-Life Doulas, our conversations are guided by principles of respect, non-judgement, and active listening, allowing everyone to express themselves authentically without fear.
Whether discussing practical matters like end-of-life planning and funeral arrangements, exploring philosophical and spiritual beliefs about the afterlife, or simply reflecting on the profound impact of death on our lives, each conversation is an opportunity for reflection, connection, and personal growth.
At our Death Cafés, we embrace the reality of death as an integral part of the human experience, and through open dialogue and shared understanding, we seek to cultivate a deeper appreciation for life and a greater sense of acceptance and peace with the inevitability of our own mortality.
